A Genesee County man was stunned when he learned he’d won $232,490 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Club Keno The Jack game.
William Krupp, Jr., of Clio, won the big prize when his easy pick The Jack numbers – 13-26-41-51-54-61-74-79 – matched eight of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn in draw 1395734 on Nov. 9. He bought his winning ticket at Vic’s grocery store, located at 10211 Clio Road in Clio.
“I was doing some shopping at Vic’s and stopped at the self-scanner to see if my ticket was a winner,” said Krupp. “At first, I thought the scanner had to be broken, so I checked my ticket using the Lottery app on my phone. When I saw all of my numbers come up, I was shocked!”
Krupp visited Lottery headquarters on Tuesday to claim his big prize. With his winnings he plans to pay off his house.
“Winning the Lottery is an incredible experience. I just can’t believe it’s real,” Krupp said.
The Jack is a Club Keno add-on game that players may add to their Club Keno wager for as little as $1 per draw. With The Jack, players get eight easy pick numbers to match to the Club Keno numbers drawn. Players may win prizes ranging from $1 to the jackpot. The jackpot starts at $10,000 and grows until it is won. To win the jackpot, players must match all eight numbers.
Club Keno may be played at the 11,000 Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings take place every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings may be found online at http://www.michiganlottery.com.
In 2015, Lottery players won about $380.7 million playing Club Keno, The KICKER, and The Jack.
