A Saginaw woman turned a break at work into a $60,000 payday thanks to the Michigan Lottery’s Queen of Diamonds online game.
“I was taking a break at work when I started playing the Queen of Diamonds game on my iPhone,” said Nichol Evans, 30. “When I saw the message pop-up on the screen that I had won $60,000 I took a screenshot just to make sure I was reading everything right.”
Evans quickly ran to her boss’s office to share the good news.
“When I ran into my boss’s office he probably thought I was crazy, but when I showed him my phone he couldn’t believe I had won either,” said Evans. “Next, I called my husband and he already had the money spent as soon as I told him I had won.”
Evans recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her big prize. With her winnings, she plans to pay off her students loans and give her family a great Christmas.
“I enjoy playing online because it’s easy and fun,” said Evans. “This is the second big prize I’ve won playing Queen of Diamonds. Just about a month ago I won $20,000. I hope the game is around for a long time!”
To celebrate Evans’s big win, the Lottery is offering new and existing online players free online play.
