A Muskegon County man has early retirement on his mind after winning $4 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s World Class Millions instant game.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning $30 World Class Millions ticket at Gills Corner Store, located at 53056 North U.S. 131 in Three Rivers.
“I was on a work break when I bought three World Class Millions tickets,” said the player. “On the first ticket I won $50, the second ticket I won $4 million, and I won $40 on the last ticket.
“So the $4 million prize was pure profit!”
After scratching the ticket, the player checked it over several times to make sure it was a winner before sharing the good news with family and friends.
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters today to claim his big prize. He chose to receive his prize as a 30-year annuity rather than a one-time lump sum payment. The player will receive a payment of about $133,000 each year for the life of the annuity.
“Winning this prize has given me the option to think about an early retirement. Now I’ve got a four-year plan to become debt-free and then I can think about retiring,” the player said.
Players have won more than $75.2 million playing World Class Millions, which debuted in May 2015. Each $30 ticket gives players a chance to win prizes ranging from $30 up to $4 million. More than $39.2 million in prizes remain, including: 79 $4,000 prizes, and 1,083 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
In 2015, Lottery players won more than $722.1 million playing instant games.
