A Wayne County woman got the best email of her life after winning a $55,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, was one of two players who matched the Fantasy 5 numbers drawn on Saturday: 05-10-17-18-20. The player bought her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com. The other jackpot winning ticket was bought at the Oram Market, located at 7446 Michigan Avenue in Detroit.
“I got email saying I had won a prize playing Fantasy 5 and it instructed me to log in to my account,” said the player. “When I logged in and learned I won a jackpot I was stunned.”
The player immediately called for her husband who was in the other room.
“He didn’t believe anything I was saying,” said the player. “Even when he came over to the computer, he was still skeptical that I had won. He told me he wouldn’t believe it until we got to the Lottery office in Lansing.”
The player and her husband visited Lottery headquarters today to collect the big prize. With her winnings, the player plans to complete some home improvements and save the remainder.
Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. Tonight’s Fantasy 5 jackpot is $105,000.
Michigan Lottery players have a chance to win up to $500,000 instantly playing online.
