The $40,000 Tax Free Raffle paid out a grand total of $1,586,900 with the drawing of 85,017 tickets on April 15. That total includes the 17 grand prize winners who each won $40,000!
Michael Young of Boon is one among the 17 top prize winners. He purchased his $40,000 winning ticket at Crossroads EZ Mart located at 4554 N. 13 Road in Mesick. With his windfall, Young intends on taking his wife of over 20 years on the honeymoon they never had.
Other $40,000 winning Raffle tickets that were claimed this week by anonymous players were sold at the following locations:
- Fosters Bar & Grill – 8770 S. Lakeshore Road, Harbor Beach
- Maroun Properties LLC – 8125 S. Telegraph Road, Dearborn Heights
- Beacon Kwik Stop Inc. – 2210 Holton Road, Muskegon
There are still 13 lucky Lottery players out there holding winning raffle tickets worth $40,000. Those winners must contact the Lottery’s Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237 to set up an appointment to claim the prize.
The other 85,000 Raffle prizes which include: 850 -$100 prizes; 31,450 – $50 prizes and 52,700 – $15 prizes may be claimed at any Michigan Lottery retailer.
40,000 Tax Free Raffle tickets and all other terminal-based tickets are valid for one year from the draw date. If any of those prizes go unclaimed, the money will be deposited into the state School Aid Fund, which is the beneficiary of all Lottery profits.
