Abel Aguado-Belmudez checked his $100,000 Cashword instant Lottery ticket very carefully before allowing himself to believe that he had won the big prize of $100,000!
When asked about his reaction to winning such a windfall, Aguado-Belmudez states that he “almost fell down.”
Aguado-Belmudez, who has been living with relatives, intends to buy his own home with the money.
The winning ticket was sold at Meijer #26 located at 0550 Baldwin St. in Jenison.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
