“Off and on” player wins Fantasy 5 for $100,000!

Fantasy 5A Lottery player from Garden City, who plays the Lottery “off and on,” hit it big on April 19 when he won the Fantasy 5 jackpot for $100,000!

At first the player, who prefers to remain anonymous, did not believe it. “I kept checking the ticket, then I gave it to my wife to check, to my daughter and then to my mother-in-law. But he was still in a state of disbelief.  It wasn’t until his mother-in-law informed him that Wayne Medicine Mart had sold a winning Fantasy 5 ticket that he decided to go online and check his numbers.

Currently, the player has not made up his mind about how he will spend the loot.

The winning ticket was bought at Wayne Medicine Mart located at 417 S. Wayne Rd. in Westland.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
