A lucky lady from Hillsdale claimed her prize of $105,000 today after matching all five numbers in the Fantasy 5 drawing on February 24.
Wendy Hoffman is a consistent Lottery player who has only ever bought instant tickets prior to purchasing this winning Fantasy 5 ticket last Friday afternoon. She just decided to try something different this time and it paid off!
With her winnings she plans to pay bills and donate money to her local animal shelter.
The winning ticket was sold by PS Food Mart – HCK located at 17 E. Carleton Rd. in Hillsdale.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
