Lottery player takes $81,866 win in stride!

The Lottery player remained cool, calm and collected even after learning that playing his favorite game, Club Keno, had netted him $81,866.

The player from Dewitt, who wishes to remain anonymous, didn’t quite believe his luck at first. “I put the ticket in my pocket and got back to work,” he stated. After work, he checked the ticket online and was pretty sure he’d won. He finally believed it when he called the Lottery office and got the confirmation that his ticket was indeed a winner.

He hasn’t decided yet how he will spend his new wealth. “You can always find something to do with money,” he said.

The winning ticket was sold by Beltline Shell # 4045; located at 2600 E. Beltline Ave. SE in Grand Rapids.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
