LANSING, June 1, 2010 – Since the POWERBALL Power Play 10X didn’t hit in the month of May, the 10X multiplier will continue to stay in the Power Play draw until it is selected.
The Power Play feature in POWERBALL normally allows players the chance to multiply their non-jackpot winnings 2, 3, 4, or 5 times but since May 1, a 10X multiplier was added. The cost of the Power Play option stays the same, an additional $1 for each POWERBALL wager. The special limited offer will run until 10X hits, giving players the chance to multiply their winnings by 10, up to $2 million!
Following the Wednesday and Saturday drawings, POWERBALL winning numbers are posted on the Lottery’s Web site, https://www.michiganlottery.com/ and on www.powerball.com . Players can also view the drawings on broadcast stations across the state: Lansing (WLAJ-TV), Marquette/Escanaba (WJMN-TV) on tape delay, and Muskegon (WMXG-TV).
Over 98.5 cents of every dollar spent on Michigan Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
