LANSING, December 27, 2007 – With no jackpot winners in Wednesday’s drawing, the Michigan Lottery’s Classic Lotto 47 jackpot continues to grow and is now at a whopping $15.4 million!
Although they didn’t hit the top prize, thousands of players did win on Wednesday’s numbers, which were 12 27 30 32 36 45. Ten players matched five numbers for a prize of $2,500 each; 657 players matched four numbers for $100 each, and 12,209 players matched three numbers for $5 each.
The next Classic Lotto 47 drawing is Saturday at 7:29 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at any Lottery retailer and sales for Saturday night’s 7:29 p.m. drawing will close at 7:08 p.m. that night.
The $15.4 million Classic Lotto 47 jackpot is the largest in the game’s history. The previous record was $12,624,787 which was claimed in July 2007. The jackpot starts at $1 million and grows by at least $100,000 each time the jackpot is not won.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
