Lottery club claims prize

LANSING, September 5, 2007 – The CACC Retirees Lottery Club claimed their $10,000 prize after a lucky ticket matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the August 24 Mega Millions drawing.

The club members found out their good fortune from a phone call from a member of the club.  The West Bloomfield group is “happy” with the win.  They have no immediate plans for the prize money.

The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Munchies & More, 25505 W. 12 Mile Rd., in Southfield.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
