Winner claims $250,000

LANSING, June 7, 2007 – Jerry Stanfill is a very lucky guy!  He matched five white ball numbers, without matching the Mega ball, in the June 5 Mega Millions drawing.

The Swartz Creek man, who works as a Union representative at North Flint Powertrain in Flint, said he has been playing the Lottery since it began.

Stanfill plans to save some of his prize money and use some to pay bills.  He purchased his lucky own pick ticket at Lucky Star Food Market, 3917 W. Court St., in Flint.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
