Sterling Heights woman claims prize

LANSING, June 7, 2007 – A very lucky 26-year-old is $10,000 richer after she claimed a Mega Millions prize for matching four white balls and the Mega ball.

Donna Manjo said she hid the winning ticket in her purse before claiming her prize at the Lottery office in Sterling Heights.  She plans to use the prize money to pay bills.

The lucky easy pick winning ticket was purchased at Parkway Beverages, 37031 S. Grosebeck Hwy., in Clinton Township.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
