LANSING, March 1, 2007 – Another winner has claimed a big $10,000 prize after matching four white balls, plus the Mega ball in the Feb. 23 Mega Millions drawing.

Kathy Mihalik of Canton said she was “very excited” and even started shaking when she realized that her ticket was a big winner. 

She hid the winning ticket in a cabinet and plans to use the prize money to pay bills.  In her spare time she enjoys reading and swimming.

The easy pick ticket was purchased at Maria’s Market, 115 N. Haggerty, in Canton.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
