LANSING, March 1, 2007 – Karen Lesko of Brighton is a very lucky lady! She matched nine numbers on a 10-Spot Club Keno game to win $25,000. The match usually pays $5,000, but she had the Kicker for 5X! She also had smaller prizes on the ticket to push her winnings to $25,026.
Lesko, who has only been playing the Lottery for about six months, said she hid the ticket in the freezer and plans to use the prize money to invest, pay bills and save for her daughter’s upcoming wedding.
The winner purchased the lucky ticket at Champ’s Pub, 140 E. Grand River, in Brighton.
Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
