Club Keno player wins big

LANSING, November 3, 2006 – A “5X” Kicker multiplied Joe Barney’s Club Keno win to a whopping $10,002!  He matched all seven numbers in a 7-Spot game, which usually pays $2,000.

Barney was in disbelief when the bartender told him of his good fortune.  He plans to use the prize money to pay bills.

The Kalamazoo man is a longtime Lottery player and enjoys tennis, golf and gambling in his spare time.

The lucky easy-pick ticket was purchased at McGonigle’s Irish Pub, 3512 E. Main, in Kalamazoo.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win.  Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time.  Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.  The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $686.3 million.
