Detroit woman claims $10,000 prize

LANSING, October 27, 2006 – Marion Block is $10,000 richer, thanks to the Michigan Lottery’s Mega Millions game.  The Detroit woman matched four white balls numbers and the Mega ball number in the Oct. 24 drawing to win the prize.

The lucky regular Lottery player was happy when co-workers informed her of the win.  She plans on using the easy pick prize money to pay bills.

The winning ticket was purchased at Phoenix Party Store, 28420 Groesbeck Hwy., in Roseville.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
