LANSING, October 25, 2006 – A lucky mechanic from St. Clair Shores matched four white ball numbers and the gold ball number to win a $10,000 prize in the Oct. 24 Mega Millions game.
Jeffrey Celani discovered his good fortune by checking his ticket on the Lottery’s Web site. He plans to use the easy pick ticket winnings to pay bills.
The lucky regular Lottery player purchased his winning ticket at Harper Fast Track, 22600 Harper Ave., in St. Clair Shores.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
