Laingsburg man wins million

LANSING, September 26, 2006 – A very lucky Lottery player is $1 million richer after he scratched a winning $40,000,000 Spectacular Instant ticket.  He claimed the ticket today at the Lottery office in Lansing.

The lucky winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he has been playing the Lottery for over 20 years.  He plans to invest his prize money and save for retirement.

The lucky ticket was purchased at K’s Market, 9978 Round Lake Rd., in Laingsburg.

$40,000,000 Spectacular is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at more than 10,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
