Winner claims $10,000

LANSING, September 29, 2006 – Karen Narra of Shelby Township is a very lucky woman.  She matched four white ball numbers, plus the Mega ball in the Sept. 15 Mega Millions drawing to win $10,000!

Narra, who has been playing the Lottery for 20 years, said she checked had her numbers check on a Lottery terminal and when she found out she was a winner she was “jumping up and down with excitement.”

She hid her ticket in a closet and plans to use the money to pay bills.

The lucky easy-pick ticket was purchased at BP Fuel, 15255 Hall Rd., in Macomb.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
