Player City to offer prize drawings every month!

LANSING, August 1, 2006 – Michigan Lottery players who aren’t already “residents” of Player City will want to sign up now to be eligible for a chance to win prizes every month.  And those players who are already “residents” will want to begin entering the contests now!

The Player City “Town Raffle” promotion officially begins August 1 when members can submit entries for the first of 12 Cool Stuff drawings.  On the 15th of each month, one lucky member will be selected from the pool of entries to receive a cool merchandise prize.  Merchandise prizes will vary each month, but Mayor Max Luck promises something suitable for a variety of tastes!  A full list of prizes can be found on the Player City website.

Also on August 1, members can begin submitting entries into the first of 12 Cool Cash drawings.  In each of these drawings, one member will be selected to receive a $100 Amex gift card.  Cool Cash drawings will be conducted on the last day of each month.

Entry into either a Cool Stuff or Cool Cash drawing will require a member to redeem 500 of their accumulated P.C. Points.  Members may enter as many times as their points will allow.  Entries will be good for one drawing only and members may only win one Cool Stuff and Cash prize per year.

Launched July 1, 2005, Player City is the Michigan Lottery’s VIP Internet site.  Over 98,000 Michigan Lottery players are now enjoying the benefits of Player City, which include jackpot alerts and Lottery drawing results.  Members have the chance to participate in exclusive contests, such as the Town Raffle, and second chance drawings.  Players accumulate points for various on-site activities, such as participating in surveys or entering non-winning tickets, and the points are then redeemable for entry into contests.

The Cool Cash and Cool Stuff contests will run through July 2007.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
