Hemlock man wins big

LANSING, May 10, 2006 – James St. Denis is a very lucky man!  He won $25,000 when he matched all nine numbers in a 9-Spot Club Keno game.

St. Denis said he was watching the monitor when his numbers came in and he was “ecstatic and happy” after the win.

The lucky player plans to use the money to make a down payment on a house.  He purchased the lucky ticket at Ewald’s Bar, 301 Court, in Saginaw.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win.  Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time.  Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.  The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
