LANSING, April 11, 2003 – The "Rod Owiesny & Jack Lodato" Lottery Club of Warren recently struck it rich, thanks to a lucky ticket they purchased at a bowling alley. The two club members, both of Warren, matched five of six numbers in the April 4 Mega Millions drawing to win a $175,000 prize!
The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 6, 22, 28, 31, 40 and the Gold Mega Ball number was 18.
The winning Mega Millions "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Continental Lanes, 31055 Gratiot Ave.,
in Roseville.
"I looked up the winning numbers on the Michigan Lottery’s Web site (www.michigan.gov/lottery)," said Lodato, the club’s representative. "At first, I thought we had only matched two numbers. But, after double-checking the ticket, I realized we had actually matched five numbers! I immediately called Rod to share the good news, then I started pacing around the room with excitement!"
Lodato said he kept the winning ticket hidden in his eyeglass case to ensure its safety before turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. Both club members enjoy bowling, golfing and watching hockey in their free time. One member said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and take a vacation. The other stated that he plans to use his winnings to pay bills, make home improvements, purchase a new car and take a vacation.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2002 Mega Millions replaced The Big Game. Mega Millions is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia and Washington.
