LANSING, October 21, 2002 – A lucky Detroit man will soon be taking the vacation of his dreams, thanks to the Michigan Lottery! The 73-year-old retiree recently scratched of a Michigan Lottery "Monopoly" instant game ticket to reveal a $20,000 top prize.
The winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Asmar Market, 16400 West 7 Mile Road, in Detroit.
"I was overjoyed to learn I had won the top prize," said the winner.
He said he kept the winning ticket locked in a safe prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Detroit. The avid traveler said he plans to use his winnings to take a long-awaited trip to New Orleans!
