Joyce Scicluna Of South Lyon Is Rolling In Dough After $7,362 Michigan Rolldown Jackpot Win!

LANSING, October 21, 2002 – – South Lyon resident, Joyce Scicluna, always dreamed of winning a big lottery prize. That dream became a reality when Scicluna won a $7,353 share of the October 9 Michigan Rolldown jackpot. Scicluna was one of two jackpot winners in this drawing. The winning numbers for the October 9 drawing were: 7, 9, 13, 17 and 30.

The total jackpot prize of the October 9 drawing was $14,706, so each jackpot winner collected $7,353 before taxes. In total for this drawing,

16,467 winners shared $51,242 in prizes. In addition to the two jackpot winners, 51 winners matched four numbers to win a $118 prize; 1,763 winners matched three numbers and to win a $9 prize; and 14,651 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

"I watched the drawing on television and when the numbers were announced, I couldn’t believe my ears," said Scicluna. "I’m still in shock!"

Scicluna, who works as a bakery manager at Farmer Jack, purchased the winning ticket at Jonna’s Fine Wines, 24225 Halstead, in Farmington Hills.

The lucky 45-year-old winner chose her winning number combination based on her "favorite numbers." Scicluna hid the winning ticket in a wicker basket to ensure its safety prior to claiming her winnings at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights. The winner, who enjoys watching movies in her free time with her husband, Charles, said she plans to share her winnings with her children.

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
