LANSING, August 16, 2002 – Mary Schultz of Dowagiac screamed with joy upon recently scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Harley-Davidson" instant ticket and revealing a $50,000 top prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at Marathon, 801 Spruce St., in Dowagiac.
"When I scratched off the ticket and saw that I had won $50,000, I was so excited I screamed!" Schultz said.
The 46-year-old lady, who enjoys playing Michigan Lottery games and traveling in her free time, said she kept the winning ticket in her back pocket at all times to ensure its safety before turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming.
Schultz, a cashier at Pri-Mar, told Lottery officials she plans to pay bills with part of her winnings and save the rest for the future. There is no doubt she and her husband, Kenneth, will enjoy their recent windfall!
"Harley-Davidson" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant games available at more than 9,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
