LANSING, August 14, 2002 – Duane Brethauer of Saginaw won a $15,485 jackpot prize upon matching all five numbers in the August 10 Michigan Rolldown drawing! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 23, 24, 26, 29 and 31.
In total for the August 10 Michigan Rolldown drawing, 14,818 winners shared $51,305 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 51 winners matched four numbers to win a $124 prize; 1,473 matched three numbers to win an $11 prize; and 13,293 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The lucky "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Trogans Party Store, 2328 S. Michigan Ave., in Saginaw.
"I watched the Michigan Rolldown drawing on television," Brethauer said. "For some reason, I had a feeling I would win, so I was actually quite calm and laid back when I realized I had matched all five numbers."
The 55-year-old retiree said he kept the winning ticket in his pocket at all times to ensure its safety before turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport. He added that he has no specific plans for his winnings at this time, but there is no doubt he and his wife, Nancy, will enjoy their recent Lottery luck!
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
