The members of the "Breakfast Club" Lottery club of Detroit matched the first five numbers drawn in the June 18 Mega Millions drawing to win a $175,000 prize! The winning numbers for the June 18 drawing were: 6, 13, 18, 27, 45, and the Gold Mega Ball number was 18.

The winning "easy pick" Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Smokers Best Buy, 23063 Coolidge Hwy., in Oak Park.

The four members of the "Breakfast Club" Lottery club include:

John Hampton of Detroit
Willie McCall of
Mario McCaskill of Southfield
Michael Steward of

"We get together for coffee at McDonald’s every morning," said Steward, the club’s representative. "I had looked up the winning numbers in the newspaper and knew we had a winning ticket, but I didn’t let the other club members know right away. Finally I told them the good news, and we have all been sleeping very well since we learned we had won $175,000!"

The four retirees have been playing Lottery games as a club since 1997, and each member stated that he plans to share the winnings with family members—though each man joked that he would simply "hand the winnings over" to his wife!

The members of the "Breakfast Club" Lottery club added that they enjoy playing golf, fishing and meeting for coffee in their free time, and they advise other Lottery players to "hang in there, and keep on playing!"

The last Big Game drawing took place on Tuesday, May 14. On Wednesday, May 15, The Big Game was replaced by Mega Millions. Mega Millions is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Virginia.
