LANSING, June 17, 2002 – A Flint man was happy to learn he had matched all five numbers in the June 14 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $17,220 jackpot! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 4, 11, 22, 25 and 32.

In total for the June 14 drawing, 18,284 winners shared $57,781 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 71 winners matched four numbers to win a $99 prize; 1,915 winners matched three numbers to win a $9 prize; and 16,297 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The winner said his wife chose the winning number combination for him. The winning ticket was purchased at VG’s Food Center, 4165 E. Court St., in Burton.

The 57-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, is a truck driver for Allied Systems. He said he initially thought he had only matched four numbers, and upon taking the ticket to the store to claim his prize he learned he had won the jackpot! He added that he has already decided how to utilize his winnings—including sharing with his children, donating to his church, saving for the future and purchasing a big screen television.

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport, the winner said he kept the ticket hidden in a dresser drawer in his home to ensure its safety. He added that he enjoys boating, fishing and restoring old vehicles in his free time.

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
