C.C. Usher of Taylor Wins $150,000 Big Game Prize in April 26 Drawing!

LANSING, May 9, 2002 – Retirement just got a little sweeter for C.C. Usher of Taylor, who purchased a ticket that matched the first five numbers drawn in the April 26 Big Game drawing to win a $150,000 prize! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 11, 12, 21, 39, 44 and the Big Money Ball number was 1.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Sax Discount, 22525 Wick Road, in Taylor.

"I bought the ticket on Friday, and picked up a winning number report from a local store on Saturday," Usher said.  "I couldn’t believe it when the first five winning numbers matched the first five on my ticket! I only bought one ticket for that particular drawing, which shows it only takes one ticket to win!"

The lucky 70-year-old, a retired tool and die maker from Spring Engineering in Livonia, said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills. He added that he hid the winning ticket in one of his motorcycle boots, and then gave it to a friend for safe-keeping before turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing.

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is Friday, May 10, with an expected jackpot of $15 million.
