In total for the April 12 drawing, 21,218 winners shared $68,479 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 77 winners matched four numbers to win a $108 prize; 2,073 winners matched three numbers to win a $10 prize; and 19,067 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The winning "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Waterloo Market, 8275 Clear Lake Road, in Grass Lake.

"I saw the winning numbers drawn on television," Esch said. "When I realized I had won the jackpot, I put the ticket in a safe to make sure nothing happened to it!"

The lucky 65-year-old retiree said he enjoys gardening in his free time, and added that he plans to use his winnings to make home improvements. There is no doubt he and his wife, Carole, will enjoy their recent windfall!

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
