Algonac Pizza Delivery Man Wins $150,000 Big Game Prize! Excitement Builds As Jackpot Nears Record-Setting Level!

LANSING, April 16, 2002 – Michael Zamesnik of Algonac recently received some exciting news while taking a break from his job—that he possessed a Michigan Lottery Big Game ticket worth $150,000! The winning numbers for the April 12 drawing were: 6, 13, 14, 17, 41 and the Big Money Ball number was 6.

The winning "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Speedway 8702, 440 Pointe Tremble Road, in Algonac.

"During a work break, I went to the store next to the pizza place where I work to check the winning numbers," Zamesnik said. "I nearly had a panic attack when I found out I had won $150,000!"

The lucky 19-year-old winner, who enjoys participating in paintball games and listening to music in his free time, said he kept the ticket hidden in a noodle maker at his home before turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing—though he told friends it was in a safe deposit box to further ensure its safety. He said he plans to use part of his winnings to purchase a new car and pay bills, and will invest the rest.

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is Tuesday, April 16, with an expected jackpot of $325 million—the second largest jackpot in the Big Game’s history!
