LANSING, April 16, 2002 – "I feel very blessed," said Cordell Cross of Detroit upon claiming his $150,000 Big Game prize! Cross matched the first five numbers in the April 12 drawing. The winning numbers for that day were: 6, 13, 14, 17, 41 and the Big Money Ball number was 6.

The winning ticket was purchased at Uptown Food & Liquor, 18201 West 7 Mile Road, in Detroit.

"When I went to the store where I purchased the ticket to check the winning numbers, I learned I had won $150,000," Cross said. "I started counting my blessings and thanking God right then and there."

The lucky 49-year-old winner, who works for General Motors, said he chose his numbers at random and has been playing the winning combination for approximately one and a half years. He added that he plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

"You have to trust fate," Cross advises other Lottery players. "If you’re meant to win, it’ll happen!"

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
