Michigan Lottery Big Game Prize Comes As Big Surprise To Roselve Rodriguez Of Novi!

LANSING, July 2, 1999 – Roselve Rodriguez of Novi could hardly believe his eyes while checking the numbers on a Big Game ticket he recently purchased!  He matched the first five numbers in the June 25 Big Game drawing to win the $150,000 prize.  That day’s winning numbers were: 2, 28, 34, 36, 48 and the Big Money Ball number was 35.

"I looked up the winning numbers on the Internet," Rodriguez said.  "I couldn’t believe that what I was seeing was really true!  I was completely surprised."

The 57-year-old Novi man said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past two years, and his favorites are The Big Game and Michigan Lotto.

Rodriguez purchased the winning Big Game ticket at Vintage Wine Shoppe, 41455 Ten Mile Road, in Novi.  Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, he kept it in a desk drawer.

The avid camper and computer enthusiast said he plans to use his winnings to make charitable donations, build a new house and save for his children’s college education.  The lucky man urges other Lottery players to simply "keep playing!"

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.  The next Big Game drawing is tonight, July 2, with an expected jackpot of $25 million.
