Lincoln Park Man's Premonition About Winning The Lottery Becomes Reality!

LANSING, June 22, 1999 – A Lincoln Park man has been purchasing Michigan Lottery tickets at the same store for years.  He kept buying his tickets at that particular store because he had a "good feeling" about it.  Well, that good feeling really paid off – the lucky man recently won the $100,000 top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Cash 5 game!

The winner, who requested anonymity, matched all five numbers in the April 6 drawing – 5, 29, 37, 38 and 39.  The winning Cash 5 ticket was purchased at Friendly Neighbor Convenience, 1753 Ford Ave., in Wyandotte.

"I was in Canada when the drawing took place," the winner said.  "When I got home my wife told me that we had won $100,000 on Cash 5.  I couldn’t believe it – I was really surprised we had won!  I knew we would buy a big winning ticket from that store someday!"

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the winner kept it in a safe deposit box.

The Lincoln Park man said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 26 years, and he thoroughly enjoys the variety of games the Lottery offers.  He said he plans to use his winnings toward the purchase of a retirement home.

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday through Friday at 7:28 p.m.  Players can win $100,000 for matching all five winning numbers; $350 for matching four of five numbers drawn; or $20 for matching three of five numbers drawn.

Tickets are available for Cash 5 and other Michigan Lottery on-line games at more than 6,400 Lottery retailers throughout the state.
