Ronald Powers Of Jackson Wins $10,000 In Michigan Lottery's "High Roller" Instant Game!

LANSING, January 27, 1999 – Ronald Powers of Jackson recently experienced a bit of Lottery luck when he won a $10,000 prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "High Roller" instant game!

The 57-year-old winner purchased the winning ticket at Heins Party Store, 3925 Brooklyn Road, in Jackson.

"When I first scratched the ticket I thought I had won $1,000," Powers said.  "After a minute I realized that I had actually won $10,000!  I went back to the store where I purchased the ticket and told the owner that I had won $10,000 – he could hardly believe it either!"

Prior to turning in the winning ticket at Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing, Powers hid it in a "secret spot" in his house for safe keeping.

The self-employed food service worker said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 10 years, and his largest previous Lottery prize was $2,500.  Powers said he does not yet have any special plans for his winnings.

"High Roller" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
