An Ohio man turned a golf day into a payday when he won a $150,000 Powerball fore-tune from the Michigan Lottery!
Donovan Reynolds, 68, matched four white balls and the Powerball – 02-18-19-25-35 PB: 25 – in the July 23 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $150,000. He bought his winning ticket at Big Daddy’s Truck Stop, located at 6055 Saint Anthony Road in Ottawa Lake. Ottawa Lake is about 40 miles south of Ann Arbor.
“I typically play Powerball in Ohio, but I was in Michigan for the day golfing, so I bought my ticket while I was here,” said Reynolds. “I checked the winning numbers the next day and froze when I saw I matched four white balls and the Powerball. I was stunned! I have been playing these numbers for awhile and they finally paid off.”
Reynolds visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. He plans to put his winnings in his daughter’s college fund.
There is a huge pile of cash up for grabs in Saturday’s Powerball jackpot which stands at $482 million. The cash option for the jackpot is $218.9 million. If a player wins Saturday’s jackpot it would be the fifth Powerball jackpot won this year.
Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.
The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://www.powerball.com. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
