Cash is still piling up in the Mega Millions jackpot which stands at $619 million for tonight’s drawing. The cash option for the jackpot is $293.6 million.
“Extra cash for Christmas and the holidays could be in store for a Michigan Lottery player with tonight’s huge $619 million Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “As the jackpot has grown, players have taken notice and are heading to retailers and to MichiganLottery.com to buy a ticket for their chance to win the life-altering amount of money.”
If a player wins the jackpot, it would be the fourth Mega Millions jackpot won this year. The jackpot is the tenth largest Mega Millions jackpot ever. Tonight’s drawing will be the 26th drawing since the jackpot was last won in September, when one ticket purchased in Texas won the $810 million jackpot.
Since the Mega Millions jackpot run began Sept. 13, Michigan Lottery players have won more than $4.1 million in prizes, including two $1 million prizes.
The Mega Millions jackpot was last won in Michigan in January 2021 by an Oakland County lottery club. The club won a $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot. That jackpot was the largest ever won in Michigan.
Lottery retailers throughout the state are selling Mega Millions tickets until 10:45 p.m. tonight. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.
Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
