Macomb County Woman Wins $2 Million Playing the Michigan Lottery’s Magnificent 7s Instant Game

Winning TicketA Macomb County woman said winning a $2 million prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s Magnificent 7s instant game is “unbelievable and lifechanging”.

The lucky 61-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning ticket at the Sunoco gas station, located at 42986 Mound Road in Sterling Heights.

“I buy instant tickets often and like playing all of the different games,” said the player. “When I scratched this ticket and saw I’d won $2 million, it wasn’t clicking in my head that I really won. I just stared at the ticket in disbelief waiting for it to sink in, but it still doesn’t feel real.”

The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the prize. She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.2 million, rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount.

“Winning $2 million is unbelievable and lifechanging,” said the player. “I plan to save my winnings until I decided what I want to do with the money.”

Players have won more than $68 million playing Magnificent 7s, which launched in Sept. 2022. Each $20 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $20 up to $2 million. More than $30 million in prizes remain, including one $2 million top prize and 19 $2,000 prizes.

In 2022, Lottery players won more than $1.7 billion playing instant games.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.
