A Portage man won his second big Club Keno The Jack prize, and made Michigan Lottery history while doing it, winning a record-setting $503,254.
Dan Housler, 62, matched his easy pick The Jack numbers – 08-39-48-51-65-66-70-71 – to eight of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn in draw 2230786. He bought his winning ticket at Fletcher’s Pub #2, located at 3013 Oakland Drive in Kalamazoo.
The $503,254 The Jack prize is the largest ever won on the Club Keno game. The previous Club Keno The Jack record was $463,361. That prize was won in October 2020 at Red’s Sports Bar and Grill in Middleville.
“I play Club Keno The Jack when the prize gets to around $100,000,” said Housler. “I have been lucky in the past and won a $239,074 prize a few years ago!
“I bought my ticket and went home from Fletcher’s. When I got there, I checked my wife’s tickets and mine. On my third ticket, the confetti flew on the app screen and the prize appeared on the screen. I was so surprised. I’ve never seen this much money at once in my life!”
With his winnings, the player plans to invest in his retirement.
“Winning this at my age means I can pay some bills and set myself up for a comfortable retirement,” Housler said.
The Jack is a Club Keno add-on game that players may add to their Club Keno wager for as little as $1 per draw. With The Jack, players get eight easy pick numbers to match to the Club Keno numbers drawn. Players may win prizes ranging from $1 to the jackpot. The jackpot starts at $10,000 and grows until it is won. To win the jackpot, players must match all eight numbers.
Club Keno may be played at the 10,500 Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings take place every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings may be found online at MichiganLottery.com.
In 2022, Lottery players won more than $407 million playing Club Keno, The KICKER, The Extra, and The Jack.
