No one matched all six numbers to win Monday night’s Powerball jackpot, but one Michigan Lottery player is $1 million richer after the drawing.
The player matched the five white balls drawn Monday night – 13-19-36-39-59 – to win a $1 million prize. The winning ticket was bought at the CVS Pharmacy, located at 626 West Front Street in Traverse City.
With no jackpot winner in Monday’s drawing, the Powerball jackpot now stands at $1.2 billion with a cash option of $597 million. The next Powerball drawing will take place Wednesday night.
If a lucky player wins the $1.2 billion jackpot, it will be the second-largest Powerball jackpot ever won, and fourth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Wednesday’s drawing will be the 39th Powerball drawing since the jackpot was last won Aug. 3.
The last Michigan player to win a Powerball jackpot was Cristy Davis, of Waterford. Davis won the game’s $70 million jackpot on Feb. 12, 2020.
If a Michigan player wins the jackpot, it would be the largest jackpot ever won in the state. In January 2021, an Oakland County lottery club won a $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot. That jackpot was the largest ever won in Michigan and the fourth largest in U.S. lottery history.
Powerball tickets may be purchased until 9:45 p.m. Wednesday at retailers throughout the state. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.
Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.
The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://www.powerball.com. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
