A Monroe County man is looking forward to retirement after winning $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s $100K Raffle game.

James Bobak, of Temperance, won the big prize when his $100K Raffle number was selected as a $100,000 winner in the March 24 drawing. He purchased his ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

“I logged into my Lottery account one day and saw the number of tickets was getting low, so I knew the drawing would happen soon,” said Bobak. “I woke up early the next morning to see if the drawing had taken place. I expected to win $50 or maybe $100, but never $100,000. When I saw I had won $100,000, I was in complete shock. I woke my wife up to tell her the good news.”

The 57-year-old Bobak visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. He plans to use his winnings for retirement.

“I have been playing the Lottery for a long time, so it feels unbelievable to win a prize like this,” the player said.
