A Macomb County man threw his phone across the room after winning $60,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Queen of Diamonds instant game online.
“I logged into my account and started playing the Queen of Diamonds game,” said Josiph Stamevski, of Macomb. “When the message: ‘Big Win $60,000’ popped up I threw my phone across the room.
“I had to log off and back on to check my account balance and make sure it was real. Once I knew it was real, I went and told my fiancé: ‘I’m buying you a new car tomorrow!’”
The 36-year-old Stamevski recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he purchased a new car for his fiancé and plans to invest the remainder.
“It feels great to win! I still can’t believe it’s real,” Stamevski said.
