An Oakland County man celebrated the birth of his fourth child by winning $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Volcano instant game online.

“I was taking care of dishes in the kitchen and playing the new Volcano game online,” said the player who chose to remain anonymous. “I think it was my fourth ticket, and I won $100,000!

“I asked my wife to look at the ticket on my phone and she confirmed it was a big winner. This money comes at a great time for us, because we just had a baby and this will help with diapers and formula.”

The 36-year-old player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. In addition to buying diapers and formula, he plans to pay bills with his winnings.

“It all happened so fast! I pressed the ‘Play’ button, and the next thing I knew, there was a message saying I’d won $100,000!” the player said.

Michigan Lottery players have a chance to win up to $500,000 instantly playing online. Players also may win prizes ranging from $1 up to multimillion dollar jackpots playing Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto 47, and Fantasy 5 online. Through its online platform, the Lottery offers players more than 50 different games with plays ranging in price from 5 cents to $20.
