An Ottawa County woman says she feels great, but is still in shock after winning a $250,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s KENO! game.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched 10 of the 22 numbers drawn Friday. Her winning numbers were: 08-33-37-39-48-49-55-61-70-71. She bought her winning ticket at the Meijer gas station, located at 14900 U.S. 31 in Grand Haven.
“I got paid Friday, and decided to buy a KENO! ticket for five draws,” said the 69-year-old player. “I woke up on Saturday and checked the numbers online. I wrote them all down and circled the ones I matched.
“At first, I counted nine and I was excited to win $2,500! I recounted the numbers and got 10, and thought: ‘That can’t be right.’ So, I counted again and again and kept getting 10 numbers.”
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters on Tuesday to collect the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to complete some home projects, pay bills, buy a car, and take a trip.
“I always hoped I’d win big, but I never expected it to happen,” the player said.
KENO! tickets may be purchased for $1. Players select 10 numbers from one to 80 for a chance to win prizes ranging from a free instant ticket up to $250,000. Drawings for the game take place at 7:30 p.m. seven days a week.
