Beginner’s luck paid off for a Macomb County woman who won $24,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Roaring 20s game online.
“My boyfriend plays the Daily 3 and Daily 4 games, but I’m not much of a gambler,” said Michelle Marshall, of Eastpointe. “He had to go to work, but before he did he put $10 in my online account and showed me how to play. I played a few different games before Roaring 20s.
“When I played Roaring 20s, I thought I had won $100 and I was really excited. When I took a closer look, I realized I had won a $100 a month for 20 years! When I did the math and figured it was $24,000, I couldn’t believe it!”
Marshall, 38, visited Lottery headquarters on Wednesday to claim her prize. She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $17,500, rather than 20 annuity payments totaling $24,000.
Marshall plans to use her winnings to pay some bills.
