A Macomb woman couldn’t stop crying after winning a $64,940 Club Keno The Jack prize from the Michigan Lottery.
Bev Brooks, 56, won $64,940 when her easy pick The Jack numbers – 05-19-21-27-43-51-63-64 – matched eight of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn in draw 1546575 on Jan. 27. She bought her winning ticket at the Card Corner Stop, located at 21681 21 Mile Road in Macomb Township.
“I bought my ticket and then got groceries on my way home,” said Brooks. “My husband was in the kitchen making dinner and I sat down at the table to watch the drawing. When my numbers came up I started bawling and couldn’t stop.”
Brooks visited Lottery headquarters Tuesday to claim her prize. With her winnings she plans to pay bills, help some family members, and then save the remainder.
“It’s a great feeling to win. It takes a lot of stress away,” Brooks said.
The Jack is a Club Keno add-on game that players may add to their Club Keno wager for as little as $1 per draw. With The Jack, players get eight easy pick numbers to match to the Club Keno numbers drawn. Players may win prizes ranging from $1 to the jackpot. The jackpot starts at $10,000 and grows until it is won. To win the jackpot, players must match all eight numbers.
Club Keno may be played at the 11,000 Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings take place every three and a half minutes. Results and live drawings may be found online at http://www.michiganlottery.com.
