An Ionia County man plans to pay off his mother’s house after winning $100,000 on a Bonus Ball Bingo instant game ticket that she gave him.
Gabe Smith, of Pewamo, won the big prize on a Bonus Ball Bingo instant game ticket he received from his mother. She bought the lucky ticket at the Muir Mini Mart, located at 296 Maple Street in Muir.
Smith scratched the ticket off and, thinking it was a non-winning ticket, tried to enter the ticket’s code into his Players Club account. When he received a message that said the code was invalid he contacted the Lottery for assistance.
After the Lottery’s Public Relations division did some research on his Bonus Ball Bingo ticket, Smith received life changing news: He had won one of the game’s $100,000 prizes.
Smith visited Lottery headquarters Friday to claim his big prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay off his mother’s house, buy a new computer, and then save the remainder.
