A Macomb County woman is keeping a big secret after winning $2 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s 100X The Cash instant game.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at the C U Party Store, located at 30005 Utica Road in Roseville.
“I kept looking at the ticket to make sure I was reading it right,” said the player. “Surprisingly, I stayed pretty calm.
“I decided pretty quickly that I wanted to keep my big win a secret, although I did tell my husband.”
After telling her husband, the player had to calm him down and convince him to help her keep her big secret from everyone, including their children.
“My husband was screaming and in disbelief,” said the player. “It took a while for me to get him calmed down and to convince him that we should keep the big win a secret.”
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters on Tuesday to claim the big prize. With her winnings, the player plans to pay off her home and invest the remainder.
Players have won more than $30.5 million playing 100X The Cash, which launched in July. Each $20 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $20 up to $2 million. More than $73 million in prizes remain, including two $2 million top prizes, 64 $10,000 prizes, and 1,527 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
